As you know, I love being involved in advancing Utah and the good work that happens in the state. I am currently most excited about Better Days 2020 and the work they are doing to inspire and educate Utah about historical women, important anniversaries and women’s advocacy issues. This past year, I have learned and been inspired by women I didn’t even know existed. There is power in these stories and I am excited to share them with all of Utah during 2020.

Better Days 2020 has started a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdrise so that we have the funding necessary to celebrate Utah women’s history in unprecedented ways.

We will be:

• Installing a statue of Dr. Martha Hughes Cannon, the first woman state senator, in National Statuary Hall in Washington D.C.

• Building a memorial to Utah women’s history in downtown Salt Lake City at the historical Council Hall across of the Utah State Capitol

• Educating Utah school children statewide with the first-ever Utah women’s history curriculum

• Hosting events and celebrations throughout the state

• Publishing books about Utah women who led the nation during the suffrage movement
